Long lines of pylons and cables cut up the blue sky. Below them lie unfriendly and cold blue fields. And yet even here exotic green parakeets have arrived to make a home for themselves.

Gertie has always painted but after retiring she had the time to enter competitions and win awards. Her paintings have been exhibited with the RBA and the NEAC. She is also a member of the RWS. Gertie lives and paints in South London.
