Coatham Marsh

Indian ink and graphite

21 x 29.7 cm

Unframed/unmounted. Signed

This image is inspired by the complex interplay between between development and nature, mankinds dependence on industry but deep connection with the natural world. Coatham Marsh and the now disused steelworks behind represents these two contradictory states, as well as the possibility of a hopeful future: conservation and sustainable redevelopment.

Contemporary artist based in Sussex, My paintings are inspired by the atmosphere of a space, its flora and fauna, the light, the colour, or the air. I work predominantly in oils, plein air or in the studio.
